Hello! I’m Dawanna. I have a wonderful life, filled with joy, adventure and great people. My family and I are close. They include my father, step-mother, 3 sisters, 1 brother, 3 nieces and 2 nephews. I share a very special bond with my nieces and nephews and we love our playdates (usually involving ice cream!) outside of family gatherings. In my spare time, I enjoy running, traveling and cooking. In the past, I’ve run to support a group called “Team for Kids”. With them, I completed the New York City marathon. Also, I have traveled annually for 15 years with an allfemale group around the About Me world. Through my travel group I have made great friends who are like family to me. On top of all of this, my work as an attorney and real estate developer has allowed me to ensure quality housing for at least 3000 children. I am blessed. Yet, each child reminds me that I’d like to be a mom to one special child. I can’t wait to be that guiding light to a child, providing a strong foundation, a warm family, and unconditional love.

Traveling, Running & Cooking
I enjoy running in the rain! It’s soothing and makes me feel like a kid!
I love spending time with family and friends. We curl up on the sofa and talk about everything. Sometimes I cook or we try new things. Most of my friends have children and they look forward to playing together during this time. Our supportive network is amazing. Besides running, I like to the enjoy nature, music and art that is offered in New York City. Walking in the park, going to Broadway shows, and seeing museum exhibits are activities that I do regularly. I can only imagine the adventure these activities would hold for a child. Then there is travel. I view the world as a classroom. One must constantly educate oneself by getting out in the world. There is so much to see and discover. I look forward to traveling the world with my child and exploring through their eyes.
Family is the center of my life. We are always in contact with each other and spend quality time together. My father often sends encouraging text messages to my siblings and me to start our week. As the oldest of my siblings, I check in with them often on the progress of their life goals and dreams. I have always been the big sister who lends a listening ear and an auntie that my nieces and nephews can rely on for special playtime. Our family makes a big deal of birthdays and holidays. We always sit down together to share meals on these special days. I am especially excited about a new baby because my 2 youngest nieces are ages 2 and 4. They would be the most loving cousins. Besides my parents who are giddy about me becoming a mother, my 90-year-old grandmother is even more excited!
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to learn about me. I can only imagine that this is a difficult time for you. While I cannot fix things, I can promise you that I would offer a child an amazing life full of unconditional love and all the tools necessary to succeed in life.”
