We acknowledge that the decision to make an adoption plan is one of the most significant choices you will make. We thank you for considering us as adoptive parents and would like to take this opportunity to share a bit about us.
Michael was raised by a single mother with two younger brothers. John and his brother grew up with both parents, who will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this fall. We were both raised in families that instilled the importance of commitment and hard work.
After chatting online for several weeks, we met for coffee in 2016. We connected over our shared passion for adventure, desire to have new experiences and explore different cultures. John is a fan of street food, street art and portrait photography. Michael is into fine dining, museums and French culture. John is a little quirky and witty. Michael is energetic and personable. As a couple we are fun-loving, spontaneous yet grounded and committed to giving back to society through our jobs. We have a shared interest in making a life together and starting a family here in New York City.
Since getting married in 2018, we have worked to establish a home that one day we hope will include a child. We often talk of our hopes and dreams for our family, including picnics in Central Park where we were married, bedtime stories in English and French, and vacations with our playful dog, Lincoln. We look forward to raising a child and giving them the opportunity of experiencing life to its fullest.

We are an active couple who lives in East Harlem. Central Park is one of our favorite places in the city, where we can often be found running, walking our dog or simply people watching. New York is our playground and we take it all in – whether it is riding bikes in search of taquerias in the Bronx, hanging with friends at the Queens Night Market or getting dressed up for a night at the symphony. While NYC is our home, we also love escaping the city for a day of kayaking on Long Island Sound, a week of hiking and eating lobster in Maine or setting off to experience the rich Afro-Brazilian culture of Brazil. As active as we are, it is our daily home-cooked meals and time spent together, connecting and communicating that brings us peace and joy. We love hosting dinners and game nights with family and friends, or simply spending a day binge-watching shows on Netflix.
We both grew up in close knit families. John, born in Queens and raised on Long Island, spent a lot of time with his immediate family. Michael is from a small town in Pennsylvania, where it felt like everyone was extended family, and many of them were. Our common upbringings were steeped in family values and traditions – sleep overs with cousins, July 4th parades and fireworks, boat rides to the beach, Thanksgiving dinners, campouts and road trips to amusement parks. We, along with our parents and siblings, look forward to continuing these traditions and creating new ones with our child. Through our travels we have made life-long friends, who we consider part of our family. Our friend network is culturally diverse, multi-lingual, and spread out geographically, which will make for fun road trips, interesting play dates and wonderful childhood memories.
We thank you for taking the time to get to know us a little more. We hope to have the chance to meet you at a match meeting in the future.
